OBJECTIVES

This two-day Excel Modelling Workshop is designed to build a robust and informative model.  The workshop uses a logical consistent approach and builds the cash flow model through a series of practical stages.  Delegates will receive a comprehensive understanding of advanced modelling, as well as how they can apply each technique to their own models.

On completion of this highly practical, hands-on training course, attendees will:

  • be able to build an advanced financial model from a blank sheet
  • be able to design transparent models which minimise errors
  • be able to write robust models which can be understood by others and maintained in the future
  • be able to develop models with advanced techniques such as risk, sensitivity and forecasting

This programme will be delivered through a practical and interactive case study and worked examples, demonstrating how and why each technique is used.  Emphasis is placed on the delegates gaining practical, hands-on experience of the design and construction of financial models in Excel.  Delegates will also benefit from formal lectures and group discussions.

The course starts with a discussion of ideal modelling techniques, standards and methods and agrees the objectives for a cash flow model.  Each session reviews the next stage of the model in terms of the financial theory, modelling techniques and potential difficulties and delegates then have the time to build each section in stages under supervision.  This is an intensive course and delegates will be spending most of the time on practical model building tasks. With the help of the Course Director and through a proven step-by-step approach, delegates will leave this intensive two-day course with the confidence and ability to apply advanced modelling techniques in Excel effectively.
