COURSE OBJECTIVES: This course will cover the core International Standards that are currently in force. The principles concepts, accounting treatment, presentation and disclosure requirements will be examined together with the practical implementation of each standard.
COURSE CONTENT:
Specifically the course will cover:
- The role and objectives of the IASB
- Presentation of financial statements (IAS 1)
- Cash flow statements (IAS 7)
- Accounting for liabilities – leases, provisions and post balance sheet events (IAS 17, 37, 10)
- Accounting for non current assets – property plant and equipment, intangible assets and impairment (IAS 16, 38, 36)
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is primarily aimed at accountants who currently prepare financial statements under IFRS or are planning to do so. It will also be of interest to accountants who want to keep up to date with financial reporting as part of their CPD requirements and auditors and analysts of companies who report under this framework.
