COURSE OBJECTIVES: This is the second day of a modular two-day programme. It focuses on financial crime, in particular on occupational fraud and bribery & corruption. These are key business risks today because of their impact on both profit & reputation and the new Bribery Act 2010. The content is self-contained and is highly interactive, with practical exercises designed to give delegates an understanding of the threats and knowledge of the controls & techniques needed to combat them.

- An understanding of financial crime risks – scale, types, motives, indicators
- Fraud prevention strategy – the most effective anti-fraud controls
- SAS 99 & IAS 240 – the modern role of audit in the fight against fraud
- How to deter fraud – the importance of the “perception of detection”
- Modern fraud detection techniques – data mining & coverts
- The Bribery Act 2010: the new risks and how to manage them
