COURSE OBJECTIVES: Good governance is a key issue for modern day charities. They are required to show that their organisations are well run, properly controlled by an effective governance team, and are fully accountable to stakeholders. This course will examine the law, as updated by the new Charities Act 2006.


Reference will also be made to good practice guidelines and procedures that have been developed in the industry. The course will be relevant for board members, management, staff and others with some governance related responsibilities or interest.

  • The role of the board and board related matters

  • Board and staff relations

  • The role of the Charity Commission
