UK GAAP Update

COURSE OBJECTIVES: This course will include a review of all core UK GAAP standards. For each standard it will cover both the key principles and the practical implementation. It will also provide an update on recently issued FRSs and FREDs.


COURSE CONTENT


Specifically the course will cover:


  • The current status and future of UK GAAP

  • Reporting financial performance (FRS3)

  • Accounting for fixed assets – tangible assets, intangible assets and impairment (FRS 15, 10, 11)

  • Accounting for liabilities – provisions and post balance sheet events (FRS 12, 21)

  • Accounting for employee costs – defined benefit pensions and share based payments (FRS 17, 20)

  • Accounting for financial instruments – presentation, measurement and disclosure (FRS 25, 26 and 29)


WHO SHOULD ATTEND


This course is primarily aimed at accountants who prepare financial statements under UK GAAP. It will also be of interest to accountants who want to keep up to date with financial reporting as part of their CPD requirements and auditors and analysts of companies who report under this framework.
