COURSE OBJECTIVES: This course looks at the statutory and recommended practice requirements for the preparation of the statutory financial statements of large and small registered Housing Associations. Many of these requirements are applied in the preparation of management accounts. It will also provide practical examples of the application of the requirements.
COURSE CONTENT
Specifically, the course will cover the following:
- The preparation of the Balance Sheet and associated notes
- The preparation of the Income & Expenditure Account and associated notes
- Detailed examples of accounting for schemes in development, particularly schemes including shared ownership properties
- Detailed examples of accounting for property disposals, including transfers to Recycled Capital Grant Fund and Disposal Proceeds Fund
- Other disclosure requirements
- Other practical examples
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is for staff who are preparing or reviewing management and/or statutory accounts for large and small registered Housing Associations for the first time or after a break.
